Great Weekend

Hey All,

I had a great weekend. First, I ate over at my folks in law as a belated b-day feast.... awesome food as usual. My wife Kirsten, my son Liam and I then went to Payson. She had to do some business there so we decided to stay the night. We barbecued over at Rumsey Park. It was weird because my father used to bring us up there and now I was doing the same with my family.

In the morning we headed to Box Canyon. My friend Bart and I had found it on accident about 10 years ago. It's about 20 miles out of Payson. I took my wife and son to the edge to show them the beauty of this area. It reminds me of a mini Grand Canyon!

Warped Tour Stories #1

Hey All,
I suppose I'll add a story for shites and grins. We we're playing Denver right in front of mile high stadium. It was awesome needless to say. Jim and I we're hustlin' merch. The doors had just opened and we were swarmed with adolescent fans. The demographic was quite normal for Warped Tour. Suddenly, out of the corner of my eye an adult that I recognized but couldn't place was trying to buy a shirt. After a three take I realized it was Jim (singer) from Pennywise. Apparently his laundry had been lost and he needed a fresh shirt for the day. I told him that we wouldn't except his money and gave him the shirt of his choice. He gave us a sweet tip in the "Beer Fund" Jar and disappeared back into the maylay of Warped.
Get this... Jim never wears anything but straight Dickies type stuff on stage so it was a shock when I saw him sport Azip on stage. We're very grateful for this for the mere fact that 20,000 impressionable minds viewed our shwag on this Godfather of punk in Denver. I of course had to get a pic of this.

I went backstage and tried to get a clear shot of Jim and Fletcher rockin' out... of course demonstrating our shirt. NO LUCK! I proceeded to the photo pit and got some blurry pix with my phone...shit!! While I was taking pics, I caught a plastic bottle in the head. SWEET! That fuckin' hurt.

With no luck I went backstage once again. All of the sudden the sky opened up and peed on us!! Fletcher (guitarist) announced that the show was being postponed due to lightning risk! Holy Shit! The Zero Curse strikes again.
I'm tellin' ya'. It was pouring!! It sounded like the pits of Hell had opened up, people we're screaming being pelted by cold rain. While I listened I noticed Jim and Fletcher chillin' havin' a beer in the equipment trailer. I approached them and apologized. They asked why? I told them the shirt cursed the show and he'd better take it off before he got struck by lightning. Fletcher told me not to say shit like that or it may happen and I'd feel bad. I agreed and headed back to our merch booth.

I got to the booth and it was lowered to block the rain. There we're about 20 people chillin under the bastard! hehehe Crazy ish! I thought for sure the show was going to be doneski! I ran into my buddy Greg who is a 20 something drum prodigy who has filled in for my drummer Jim at times. He was in good spirits as usual and was chillin' with his girl. We waited for awhile and lo and behold we heard the unmistakable timbre of PENNYWISE!! The show was saved!! I ran back to our van to get the real camera, my ELF! Awesome pix!! I took some from the pit and the photo pit. The Zero Curse was defeated that day by one of our favourite bands!
